Submit root or sub-folder link for SEO?

My blog is under a sub-folder (www.michaelaulia.com/blogs) and not on the root.

Should I submit the /blogs or the root whenever I want to market my blog? (to online directories, forum signatures, comments, etc)
This leads to another question, if all quality backlinks link to /blogs/, will my root domain gets the link juice from it (pagerank)?

Yeah as per me you should submit the /blog if you want to market your blog and your root domain will get link juice.

Ah I see.. I thought it's the other way around (the ranks on your root domain will "flow down" to the sub folders)

Cheers :) This makes me want to open another blog, but putting it on another sub-folder lol (rather than using a new domain name). Heard Google likes sites with lots of contents underneath

Thanks guys. Well the next blog is totally on a different niche (Technology vs Christianity), so I doubt that it will contribute to the rankings lol

no problem there michael. Just start a new domain and continue to write content on both blogs :)

I too would mix it up. If you are trying to get both page's ranked well then use both root and /blog when building your backlinks.
