    You shouldn't have to index your site. It's usually done automatically after a certain amount of time of posting. Just keep posting high-quality content with the right keywords, and you'll make it.

    Yes, submit your blog to their webmaster tools. Once it's active then your site can be indexed and ready for traffic flow. But don't forget one of the rules of SEO, and that is to build decent backlinks to your site. No use if your site's indexed but doesn't show up on the first page right?
