    Personally I wouldn't pay for such a service. Getting that many links all at once looks spammy to the search engines. So they may not give you credit for all of those links. Also, search engines are now giving less weight to links from directories. Since most directories will rarely give you any direct traffic either, this is becoming an outdated strategy that doesn't help much.

    I think you should spend time on using social media sites such as forums, blogs, etc to build a profile and link bacl to your website. Meaningful particpation in such sites can bring much better results than mass scale directory sumisions. Although I would'nt disocunt directory submisison completely, I think it is something that should be done here and there as and when you have time.

    @Vansterdam
    wouldn't it be relevant if proven quality back links are provided?
    Does it matter if it is automated vs. manual?

    Thank you!

    I would advise against submitting to 1000 directories. Most directories on the internet are junk and Google considers them spam and/or link farms. If too many links come from sites that Google doesn't trust, it could hurt your rankings.

    That said, there are a number of directories that are good (probably around 100). I only submit to directories with a PR over 3 so I know that Google must trust them. Also look for directories that are specialized to your niche (eg. travel directories if you site is about travel).
