Would you guys rather have your articles submitted to 300 sites ranked in google pr as 0 to 4, or submitted to 20 sites ranked with a google pr of 5 to 6 or higher ?

I don't understand the choice... Rather I don't understand the reason for having to make the choice.

    Choose both...

If you were to ask which one would I do first if I could only submit 5/day, I would do the high page rank ones first. They have a decent chance at landing your article on first few pages for the desired keyword. Which obviously is good for your site the second it happens.

The other way of submitting to lower PR sites is good also, but it will take the crawlers longer to find those links, so naturally I would do those last.

    Hope this helps,
    Travis

will I was just wondering if it was worth the time, to submit to say several hundred sites, mostly smaller ones. I was told once that its only worth it to submit to say the top 10 or 20 sites, such as : isnare, buzzle, amazines, etc.

Ive noticed that many of the smaller articles sites may only have 200 or less total articles.

Ah I see what you mean.

First of all PR has nothing to do with size or quality of a site (article directory) PR is google's opinion of a site rather.

About the smaller article sites, it is in my mind worth it to distribute your article to any directory that will publish it on their site. You never know when one small 200 article site today will be tomorrows 200,000 article directory.

What you want to watch out for... is article directories that do not even bother to publish your article and it just sits in their "review queue." Those are the only directories I see as not being worth it.

I also use an automatic article submitter, so keep that in mind when you re-read my post, as that won't be a bad idea. ^_^

For me, it would be quality over quantity. So to save time I would submit to fewer but higher PR rather than several low PR sites... they all weight out the same + you save time!

First you need to decide what the goal for the article is. Do you want actual traffic from the Bio Box? Or did you want to improve your search engine result position by using your keyword phrases?

If you want actual visitors, in my opinion it is best just to submit to the top 3-5 directories, like ezinearticles and goarticles etc.

If you want to do keyword search phrase links, submit your article to as many directories as you can find.

Both work, but each have an unique purpose.

    Always think of two things:

    1. Are you more worried about earning respect and an expert reputation through your articles, or just worried about quick backlinks?

    2. You need to think about the ROI. Will submitting to 100 sites really give you a significant increase in your return as opposed to what you'll get from the top 10 sites? The short answer is no.

One high quality article submitted to few top article directories is enough. A well written article spread like fire :)
