How do I submit a site to DMOZ?, it doesn't look obvious to me.
I go to "suggest URL" but see no link for submit.

It's at the bottom of the page - a button with Submit written on it :).

If that's not the case for your chosen category, please tell me which category it is.

it takes ages,so be patient to get it approved, once you do it forget it and just watch the show. do not forget your routine life, it is very important.

I have never found a submit link anywhere in the computers catagory.
I had two sites, relating to the Internet and a certain Portable Music Player, but NEVER managed to find the link to submit them, and this was waaaay back in 2005.

Actually the button is on the top right of the page with "suggest URL" on it. Some categories, a very small number, do not carry this as submissions at this level are discouraged, http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/ for example.

I think you have to reference the page and then it will be checked. If we had a general failure I think there would be some postings by now.

well yes is just another link , but to have this link you have to follow guidelines and the rules :) or to wait and hope some editor will find your site useful enough to be added there ( since some of them claiming they really do this ) . Crossed fingers :) And don't comment too much about what you think , what you see and if you have questions or need some help with something just try to not be rude and annoy peoples because this can put you in '' bad light '' . :) There are valuable links of dmoz with sure since its seems most of webmasters are just trying over and over to do this and suppose innocent peoples browsing the directory looking for what they need ( if they find what I found its just '' bad luck '' or '' mistakes '' :) ) .

So you recommend that people find the small directories and list there, ones site is easier to find, but sometimes you will have to trawl through an awful lot of small directories to find what one is looking for, try the supermarket style at the largest directory that covers most things, DMOZ of course.

I think you misunderstand this forum, which is not run by ODP, and where the administrators/moderators are not (as far as I know) current editors.
If you have a problem with the way this forum operates, please address your comments to those who operate it, rather than towards volunteer editors who are just ordinary members here.

Several other mods here are also editors on the ODP.

And for the record, there is NO forum ran by DMOZ, though there are many that have DMOZ editors that post in them. The only means of communication between the world at large and the ODP is blog.dmoz.org, and that is not a very good method of two way communication.

Sigh. I simply don't understand why people post here just to make things up and remind everyone that they used to be an editor. It doesn't seem to achieve anything at all.
