submission services

I know, many say you must submit manually. However, if you choose to use a service, what is the benefit of having them submit monthly? I mean, once you are there you are there, right?

Yep. The most likely outcome of submitting monthly is annoying someone who has the power to blacklist you from whatever directory or SE you are submitting to...

The only benefit is to the service, who is getting your money every month. ;-)

I figured it was a waste of time. I ask because I am currently looking at submitexpress and thinking about throwing down that 25 bucks for their one time submission.

I figure at the least, I can drum up a few more backlinks out of it.

Or, for $25 less, you could submit yourself to the few that are worth it -- which pretty much means a few directories and no search engines.

I think submissions services like that can serve a purpose. If you just want to focus on developing your sites and creating content then contracting out directory/search submission is probably a good idea. Most webmasters want to do it all themselves, and profit margins are often so slim they have to. Once a month is over the top though; I'de say once every 3-6 months tops. You might want to switch up services each time also for some variety.

true, and I have basically done that. I have around 400 backlinks on google now from manual submissions just thinking that maybe a quick directory submission program like this could get me into some directories I keep missing. I would really like to see that BL total at google up over 1000.

Why would you want to resubmit every 3 to 6 months? To any directory?

I said you should switch up which services you use, under the assumption that different services submit to different directories.

If you don't get into a directory you might get into it later...either in a different category, or for a big directory the submission will likely be checked by a different person. Also, your content is likely to change over 3 months.

That sounds kinda silly to me, I only ever submit once to a directory unless I go for about 6 months without getting included.

Because there are new directory every months. My list of free non reciprocal is increased by 50 every month and decreased by a little less amount.

At this moment, I have around 400. It is increasing and decreasing.

You can submit to those new added directories every month.
