After getting all sorts of people trying & asking for all sorts of submissions to my directory, I've compiled a list of more important SUBMISSION GUIDELINES that will be placed on all my directories (omitted the more common and obvious ones). You might find it helpful to check if your guidelines include these and to include them if not in order to protect yourself and to make sure there are no uncertainties on your submission criteria in order to portray a quality & professional directory. - If website changes content after approval has been given to include non-acceptable content (as stated in guidelines), we reserve the right to remove your link from our directory. - No submission of websites in top-level categories are allowed for quality purposes. Websites submitted to root categories will be automatically placed into the most appropriate deepest sub-category by administrators. - Featured links definition: XXX XXX - Website must be mainly (XX%) in English - No keyword spamming in any field - Maximum 5-8 words in title field - No links with redirect to other pages. - Proper full-sentence descriptions are required for clarity. - No usage of prices, traffic, or other values that has high likelihood of changes. - We do not accept websites that contain illegal content including: child pornography, libel, copyright infringement or material that is inclusive of illegal activities. - Do not submit websites with links to affiliate programs or sites designed exclusively with affiliate links. - If submission is rejected despite your website meeting ALL the above guidelines, full refund will be provided immediately. - If submission guidelines are not adhered to during submission, the editors reserve to right to approve/disapprove requested refunds on a case-by-case basis. Hope this has been helpful as I noticed that many directories do not have very clear guidelines (or none at all) and this is important to establish a good professional image to potential clients Do feel free to add to this list (but pls don't include obvious ones that everyone probably already have).
Good nice guidelines It will of be very helpful to me Also you can include design of the website If the website is badly designed it is not going to attract visitors So the design of the website should not be bad
I guess that would be little too hard to define. Or do we have a way to regulate that ? Nice list jl255 Personally i donot approve financial service site without a direct mailing address, thats one of my own rules
You left out 2 biggies... Yes/No deeplinks or domain only for non-featured links. Must have valid e-mail.
It can be possible sometimes... Eg.: You submitted to me before, chargedback now you are trying the trick again. You are my enemy, sorry I don't wanna allow you inside. Many strange things possible creed bro...
There's no way you can plan for all possibilities, and someone always comes along sooner or later with a type of website you don't want to list, but haven't put in your guidelines. Essay-writing services might be one. There are loads of things you might want to take an ethical stance on even though they aren't actually illegal. If you put them all in your guidelines you might end up with a 10000 word essay that even the most careful submitter wouldn't bother to read.
