Submission and SERP

    Hi!
    I've tested the submission with some sites. It's true, you don't have to submit your site to MSN, just post a link on some forums. The MSN bot will visit your site after a few hours. The site is indexed after 36-48 hours. What I don't know yet is how much time it gets to have your site listed in the results (SERP)... it may take 2-3 weeks...

    give it 4-7 days after it crawls your site... (at least that's been my experience)

    my latest site got into the google index 4-5 days after i launched :) all i did was to put it into my signature in the 4-5 forums that i frequent. i did not submit my site to any se to be crawled...

    using the site:www.domainname.com, i get 7-8 entries listed :)

    Of course it is, that is everyone's concern.

    How long has your site been around?

    What keywords do you want to be found for? Nobody is going to search for "e-Linuxnetworld" so you should change your anchor text for starters.

    How long did it take you? I've been trying to get one of my new sites indexed in MSN (since Link-Vault won't accept you unless you show up in the big 3), and it's not happening. I'm showing BLs in MSN, but site:www.mydomain.com isn't bringing back any results yet. :(

    I can get lot of pages into Google and MSN in 2-5 days. Easy to get the homepage into yahoo too. The tough part is to get more pages into Yahoo. The good part for Yahoo is that you get some traffic once pages are indexed.

    I recently started a new site: dirspace.com, the site is now about 2 months old.

    In the beginning it really got quickly picked up by MSN and Yahoo, after about 2/3 weeks Google started to get a hang of the site.

    Now after about two months Google has indexed about 3450 pages, MSN about 79 pages and Yahoo about 2 pages.

    For some reason MSN and Yahoo aren't indexing the site anymore. :confused:

    It probably need some more time to get a full index by MSN/Yahoo....
