Yes, you can give all your affiliate links a unique ID and when you look at your click report, you can tell exactly which link your users clicked, and thus which links are working better.
Hi LongHaul, Thanks for the reply. Longhaul, is tracking information normally provided by the the affiliate network or google analytics ? Thanks
Hi, Thanks for the reply. What do you mean when you say "of course you'll need your own way of passing the subids though." ? Thanks
Well you can have site 1 that gets traffic from Adwords and you can put subid=google and then setup the same site separately and put subid=ysm but if you want to get specific you would either need a custom solution or 3rd party software that will pass a new subid for each keyword that is used to land on your page. eg. someone searches for online dating and the software will automatically place the subid as "1" then free online dating might be sub id "2" and then you just match them up with your tracking and the network.
Hi, Thank you for the response and explanation. Would you know if its possible to use google analytics to track your camps. ? How about google converrsion tracking ? Thanks
No. Look into something like xtreme conversions (what I use), keyword radar and there's a few others I think.
Hi, Thanks for the response. Do any of these sites cost money ? Is there any free affiliate conversion tracking software ? Thanks
don't you think that these tracker softwares just provides the programmer a goldmine of what offers and keyterms convert?
The programs do cost money. You can probably find some free stuff but it won't be as good. Or if you head off to the click consultants forum run by mystickal there is some stuff there but you'll have to pay for a monthly membership. No. You pass the subids as numbers and then match them with your reports.
Some networks too. You need to check with the merchant (if inhouse s/w) or network to see if their system supports subids.
What do you mean exactly? Most networks allow you to pass subids but they don't provide software to keep track of your keywords on your end.
I thought you meant affiliate tracking software in your reference to "software" in previous post. Most affiliates use excel or software to track the keywords to the id's they put in the affiliate link.
Yes they are used by some affiliate programs and then some others do not use them. I think all affiliate programs would benefit from using them though. Quite a few cpa networks offer them and some affiliate networks and some in house programs should also offer them. Good luck.
CJ does, you just add &SID=[whatever] to the query string in the affiliate link. Don't know about azoogle, sorry. I know LinkShare has them too; you sign up for the "Signature" feature (free) and it's a similar thing there, add &u1=[whatever] to the link.
