Subdreamer CMS, Opinion

Hey everyone, I've been looking into cms solutions that work out of the box with minimal configuration. I've tried ModX CMS which is cool, but I'm annoyed the crappy blog support. Drupal takes to much tweaking, and worpress is to limited. Has anyone used Subdreamer CMS it looks like a could be good solution.

Subdreamer CMS is simple for use, but doesn't support blog too.

Yo guys this is the cms i found yesterday, you can install a free version to test it. But, you need to purchase a license if you want to use it on a personal or commercial level. I installed the free one and I'm really impressed. Check it out expressionengine.com

Can you please give here / PM me the link to your site where it's installed. ExpressionEngine is one of my final short-lists, but I feel it's lacking good templates. So just like to see how the default look & feel is.

I like to know what you meant by 'blog support' ?
You mean - you are looking for the software that supports blogging as well.

If you are looking more for blog style, then I feel ExpressionEngine is a decent choice.

But despite of it's excellent functionality, the default template (and other templates in their repository) looks below-par. I think they should concentrate a bit on their templates also.

If there is a designer who can develop own template (theme), then it's a good choice.

I agree that the templates are pretty weak... but to your point, Lucky for me, I am a designer so I was looking beyond the default template and more at the overall administrative functionality. I really like the multi site mod for instance. That can really come in handy if you run a bunch of sites. I've had a difficult time finding a cms that can manage multiple sites cross domain. I also like the layout of the admin panel. It's seems a bit less overwhelming than drupal or ModX. Another cool thing is it has built in security settings.

Please share any of your findings on ExpressionEngine once you test it. It will help others looking at various CMS solutions.

I found EE is little faster (in page rendering) may be because of it's simplicity in default template.
It remains to be seen if it behaves with same speed when subjected to high traffic.

I think it all boils down to what your needs are, I like it because of the intergration with the IPB forums.

Hey Suri, nice research so far... I think that I'm going to buy the personal version and give it a whirl. As soon as I set it up I'll give you guys a full review along with a screen cast of features that I find the demo lacks. I guess my question for you would be. Would you buy it or do you think I'm making a mistake?
