    Hi sorry if this is a bit of a noob quesiton.
    But I have a domain name, for example... kickit.com
    does the subdomain always comes before the domain? ie

    wecan.kickit.com
    youcan.kickit.com

    or is it possible to have

    kickit.hard.com
    kickit.long.com

    I have a few domains with godaddy...dont know if i can do it here.

    thanks for you time!

    I thought a subdomain can come after, like site.com/sub

    Is it called something different in the example above?

    Yes, that is called a folder.

    Subdomains = before domain.
    Subdomains look like this
    subdomain.domain.com

    Folders = after domain.
    Folders look like this
    domain.com/folder

    I know his first example is a sub domain and that the sub domain has to come first but I have seen the second example also. How is this possible?

    cyclotron, when i setup a /anythinghere recently, in the hosting it was called a subdomain.

    Could it be possible that some use different terms? or is what i created definately a subfolder?

    In cpanel there is a domain category and then a subdomain option. just fill out the fields and you should have your subdomain.

    if you have admin powers on a server and can get into cpanel, there's an option for subdomains. I think you can just set it to whatever you want, although I've never done anything more than a 1 level subdomain (like a.1.mysite.com, as opposed to 1.mysite.com)
