Hi, Its always bugged me the major differences between Subdomains and TLD domains (.com, .net and .info's for example). I'm talking from the Search Indexing perspective, is there really that much difference. For example which would rank better if the content were practically the same. Freeebooks.com or free.ebooks100.com. Thanks a lot any insight into these things would be gladly appreciated.
You wouldn't see many subdomains ranking better than TLD's provided all conditions were the same SEO-wise with the possibility of this exception: Example: You want to rank for "louisiana jambalaya recipe" domain:jambalayarecipe.com subdomain:louisiana.jambalayarecipe.com The subdomain may have a slight advantage here due to the presence of the extra keyword.
TLD domain have its own superiority compared to subdomain. It's wise for you to use tld domain even if the conditions are nearly the same.
it depends if the subdomain is already stablish its position and trust to search engine it would be rank higher but if they are both newly acquire there is no way that the subdomain will been the tld.
