Subdomains, Sitemaps & Webmaster Tools

I have a website on one server and a blog hosted elsewhere under a sub- domain.

I'd like to submit the sub-domains sitemap to webmaster tools along with the main domain, is there anyway to do this as webmaster tools seems to prevent me from entering the sub-domain when providing the sitemap address.

Is this the best way to do it?

Any advice you can offer on this would be greatly appreciated.

you will have to submit your sub domain as a separate web in Google webmaster as such they are considering sub-domain as a different identity.

feel free to contact me if you need any help

Thanks seojig, what was confusing me is the way Google Analytics treats subdomains, which appears to be different to Webmaster tools.

My Subdomain shows as part of my website in Analytics but is treated as a seperate entity in Webmaster tools. Seems a little strange for Google to treat them in different ways.

Thanks for the advice though, I have implemented the changes and thus far they seem to be working fine.

A subdomain is like a new domain. Google analytic consider it the part of same domain. You have also different web hosting for the subdomain. So verification needed in google webmaster.
