Subdomains of authority pages

    Hello everbody,

does anyone know how (sub-)subdomains of authority pages can have impact on link popularity?

What I mean is the following:
The authority page is xxx.com (PR 8), subdomain is yyy.xxx.com (PR 6),
    subsubdomain is zzz.yyy.xxx.com (PR 4).
I can link from a PR3 page from zzz.yyy.xxx.com with whatever I want (presell page, only link at all on whole page etc.).
Does this make sense for link popularity at all? I mean: is this still a link from an authority page?

You should be doing good internal linking with your sub's. It's a link from an authority...that's your own site.

Internal linking can have HUGE impacts on your site. Using the right anchor text and spreading out within all subdomains and folders can garner nice rankings if done properly. I think the internal linking is probably one of the most under-appreciated parts of SEO, and one that a lot of people forget about.

I own a site on a sub of that authority page and want to link to the site I want to push.
So what is most recommended to do then?

I thought about having a keyword optimized ("presell") page (article e.g.) on the authority subdomain with keyword rich (external) links (maybe 2) to my want-to-push site. Then on the authority page (ie. subdomain) I would link from every other page (maybe from the navbar) to this "presell" page (with my keywords again).

    Would that make sense?

ya, it does make sense, but why? I mean, if it's only for the link love, then get some incoming links and you'll be good. But a pre-sell page is good, regardless of your linking methods.

Also, if you're sub-domain is on a country domain, those domains might not garner good rankings like they use to last year. Those have been spammed too much and Google knows it.

It is my own site on this authority subdomain and I can do with it whatever I want to do.
I just thought: if i have the chance to get a link from an authority page, what is the best possible linking option?

for example (just some dumb ideas):
    - should I create hundred pages on the authority page and link from every single page to my wanna-push-page? (I dont think so)
    - should I create kind of pre-sell page?
    - how should internal linking on the authority site look like?
    - should I create a WHOLE topic related (to the wanna-push-page) site on the authority page?

I don't know what will get the best effect for search engines. This is what I'm asking for.
I get very confused reading all those seo articles and threads about external and internal linking... sorry.

Well, for starters, internal linking is using your keywords as links for linking throughout your site. Kinda like a mini-navigation somewhere on this page. If your site doesn't already have keywords as anchor text links, then you should do some.

If you have an established domain and put up a new subdomain, you won't really have a problem getting the search engines to it. Mainly, put a link from the main page and link to the subdomain. Then, get some inbound links from other sites to your subdomain. You should be ranking in no time.

Of course, you could try this method too.
