Subdomain question: what if i buy a site and make it my subdomain?

    I want to purchase a website. The site is fairly large.

    I already have a website and I want to make the website i am looking to purchase the subdomain of my current website using 301 redirect.

    what are the negative/positives?

    i guess with permanent redirect you should get the PR transfer....

    negative side.....either your main domain or subdomain get penalize...both is out
