    Website is www.domain.com and domain.com.

In public_html created folder called mediawiki for wiki software:
    /public_html/mediawiki

    http://www.domain.com/mediawiki works fine.

Created subdomain wiki as follows (from Cpanel for account):
    wiki.domain.com /public_html/mediawiki not redirected

    but http://wiki.domain.com/ goes to:
    http://wiki.domain.com/mediawiki

    Which is actually
    /public_html/mediawiki/mediawiki
    which doesn't exist.

How do I get http://wiki.domain.com to point at /public_html/mediawiki without the extra directory?

I tried redirect and it successfully redirects, however the URL in the address bar becomes:
    http://domain.com/mediawiki/index.php
Which is not what I want, I want it to read:
    http://wiki.domain.com/

Essentially the "mediawiki" directory needs to be transparent to the users.

Full server, access to xterm, WHM and Cpanel for accounts. Cpanel is v11 but might be modified by the host (siteground).

    Thanks,
