We have an ecommerce site ecommercesite.com We're preparing a portal type site which will have blogs, information, news etc. to support our ecommerce site. So, from a marketing perspective, which one would you prefer? 1) Setup portal.ecommercesite.com 2) Setup relatednichedomain.com I'd love to hear your thoughts about which one you'd choose. IMO, if we have the second option, it'd become a standalone portal within our niche, and would probably easier to get natural backlinks to informative articles (and we can add links to the keywords to redirect the traffic to our ecommerce site). But what'd be the disadvantages? I need to decide today, and would love your feedback. thanks in advance
