I'm running a LAMP server with CentOS and Webmin. It's got a couple of sites running.

What I want to do now, is make a status subdomain for one of the sites on another server - so it will work as a log/failover/status page.

How do I go about setting this up the most reasonable way?

You need edit the dns zone for the specific domain and point the subdomain to another server. usually the dns zone files are located here:

    /var/named

Just edit the subdomain A record to the IP you are going to point it. Remember you need to have another Zone file and a httpd record on the server you are pointing it.

PM me if you face any problem :)

    Good Luck.

You could just add the A entry like grandy said, you could do 2 sync sites, and make either www.domain.com on one server and domain.com on another server, and just use rsync to sincronize mysql data files and folders. You could simply make a bash script so the rsync works frequenty.
