Subdomain considered part of the same site?

If I add a UK section of my site eg,
uk.mysite.com
Is that considered the same site and will I get the same juice as mysite.com/uk

Also will that affect UK search engines?

If you add different content, it should not be considered as similar site.

I have a site with 2 subdomains. On my Google sitemap I received errors when all were on one sitemap. I ended up having to do a seperate sitemap for each subdomain, as it appeared Google thought they were serperate.

 

I guess I worded that dodgy. I mean will it be the equivalent of a regular page on my site because that's what I want. I just think uk.mysite.com as opposed to mysite.com/uk looks better.
