Subdomain can be hosted somewhere else?

    hey guys, is this possible that suppose i have a domain at hostgator or a webhost../

    the sub domain can be hosted somewhere else?

    You can host a sub domain somewhere else. What you'd need to do is modify the sub domain to point to the other locations IP. Then the location just sets things up as usual and the sub domain should point to their servers.

    hmm InFlow you mean as in subdomain redirection or something else?

    You could do it using subdomain redirection. But the most ideal way would be to edit the actual domains dns zone and add an A entry for the subdomain and set it to point to a specific ip.

    Why to mislead people if you don't know. Subdomain can be host anywhere like a domain.

    Exactly, point the subdomain to other ip/host and you are all set.

    It is possible, like the others said...

    I did it once, but make sure the host you are pointing it to is reliable... It was annoying when my main site was up and running, but the forums/support subdomain was down... Looked unprofessional...
