Subdomain 301 Redirect to Home

    Hi there,

    Due to some kind of unique (or weird) system in one of the client sites, I have to make a subdomain and 301-redirected to my homepage:

    thisisweird.mydomain.com : 301 redirect to >> www.mydomain.com

    and then the backlink-building goes to thisisweird.mydomain.com

    Will www.mydomain.com get the same backlink effect from the 301 redirect?

    isnt this just the same as the nonwww to www htaccess 301 redirect?
