Alright so if I have a website say car*com and then make a sub-domain like redcars.car*com I cant post that same kinda of content that I posted on my main site. SAMPLES: 1. Like if car*com has a article/post about '08 Red Cars then I made redcars.car*com have a article/post about '08 Red Cars - is this wrong? 2. Like if car*com has a article/post about '08 Red Cars then I made redcars.car*com have the same article/post about '08 Red Cars but titled it 2008 Red Cars - is this wrong? 3. Made artricle/posts on redcars.car*com direct traffic back to car*com for its post for '08 Red Cars and made other articles/posts - is this wrong? As you can see I don't fully understand it...
I can't understand either.. If you are dealing with just one niche, why don't post it all on main domain?
SAMPLES: No it's not wrong. You cud have title same on many websites and sub domains. It does not have any issue of concern. But the condition is that content shud be different for both articles................. Yes it is worng. You cud have same title but not same content. You cud get penalized by Google Soon.............. I didn't understand what you wanna say but as far i guessed, u r saying that for the same post/articles on both addresses, direct traffic coming to main domain not to subdomain. So i wanna say it's not wrong. But i wanna say don't use duplicate content it wud be the major factor to ban your site in future........................
I was trying to say if I had a post on car*com for Red Car 1 then I made a post on redcars.car*com with Red Car 1 but directed them back to car*com Red Car 1 post.
Means u r doing redirection from ur subdomain to main domain. If u r just do 301 redirection and no it's not consider spammy and it's accoring to google guidlines. But be sure you have done 301 redirection.................
So pretty much if I set up sub-domain just pretty much base all its content the same as the main site and its ok to copy a title to a T but the the content linked to that title - is that right... ?
1. If a sub-domain site is added on I should make all new content for it - right... 2. But its ok to use the same titles as I had used on the main site? as long as there is new content about that title...

Yes i told you earlier you cud use same title many times for a article but content shud different. As you are doing it's fine...........
It's better to use Categories rather than sub-domains. Like... If you post an article about red cars and another about white cars, you can put them in categories like these: Cars*com/red-cars ; Cars*com/white-cars
