sub domain vs keyword stuffed domain name question

    Hello,

If I write an ebook about lets say, grape cereal, and have an old domain name that ranks competitively for another niche, is there any reason not to just setup the sub domain http://grapecereal.establisheddomain.com vs registering grapecereal.com if there isn't any real competition for the phrase "grape cereal" to begin with? Wow, I should write an ebook about run on sentences.

My thinking is that it would look OK to the organic search result visitors, and avoid being sandboxed or penalized for being a newer domain. Or perhaps you guys would suggest one of those free blog accounts?

Any insight/suggestions to a newbie IM would be greatly appreciated!

This is cost effective and you can pretty much create as many subdomains as you wish which will give you a leg up on the rankings.

Look at what About.com did, they just made a subdomain for everything under the sun.
