Sub Domain on a Seperate IP

    If you host a domain on one IP and a subdomain on another IP, does Google treat this as two entirely different sites? Or does it recognize them as related because they share the same main domain name?

    The IP's are different, therefore the domains are different.

    Correct, both are different, just make sure they are not the same as far as layout and content though
