You guys crack me up ... especially since I've been married for almost a decade ... ;-) I did suggest to my brother that he add some sort of update to the listing, but he pulled out a can of whoopa** with the B*****B comment - yikes! And once it got over a few bucks, I also suggested he add something to the effect that proceeds would go to charity, since he never meant this as a money-making endeavor ... just a way to "win a bet" with his fiancee. I just re-sent that suggestion. BTW, that large image of the shaving kit bag halfway down the eBay auction is hot-linked to my server - any suggestions what I should (heh, heh!) do to it?!? ;-) P.S. FYI FWIW: Some info on the $10,000+ I've raised for Celiac Disease Research - I did not coordinate the eBay auction of a 15-year old stained shaving bag with the University of Maryland folks - although having done a tour of their facilities, I can attest they do have a bio-hazard waste disposal area ...
Absolutely no bidding on his part ... and while my wife wanted to toss a bid in, I said no-go ... plus her eBay ID would probably identify her as a relative anyway. But I'm sure Myke would like to see as high as price as possible ... ;-) Myke just updated the eBay listing saying "Holy cow, this is going to pay off well for me, and I don't mean by the money!" and then confirms he'll donate the money to charity ... and closes with "Of course, I'm going to keep the collatoral winnings due to me from my fiancee." per the earlier statement that "So I got her to say that she'd give me a b*** **b for each dollar that I was able to sell it for." I'd like to say I was that creative with the wording, but it's all him - frick'in hilarious ...
That alone is worth passing the hat for so to speak - hell, there's your eBay auction! For every $$ dontated to charity, dude gets a BJ .... you could raise millions, millions I tell ya!! Man if we could get an auction going like that Alek, we could get some serious viral marketing going ... can you imagine Bob and Tom promoting a charity auction for BJs ....
I can't believe that an answer jumped straight into my head.... ...unfortunately it's too shocking to write!
Hello??? this is no ordinary Supersonics Shick Shaving Bag, it's a Classic Supersonics Shick Shaving Bag 803 views!
Myself and my gf are watching it in out eBay accounts. If you have an account, put it in your watch list, and see if we can drive it to the top of the Pulse, where it will gain many more views.
Is there any way your brother would be open to sharing his winnings? He'd get soooooo many more bids hehe...
That would be a funny question to submit via eBay and see if he posts it on the listing for all to see! ;-) P.S. Good idea Halobitt - I'm not an eBay junkie, so I'm not aware of some of the nuances like that.
This thing is geting some serious play. bid is still @ $36 but the views haved jumped to 6203 now. even gotten a couple of comments from the bulletins I posted on myspace: 1) "lmao" 2) "~Seriously---you've got to be kiddin' me!"
While I welcome the traffic, I assure you guys this wasn't an attempt for monster views (although I welcome it) or tons of money (I suggested to my brother that once the bid got above $5, he should donate that part of the compensation (!) to charity). I just thought it would give him some major bragging rights with his fiancee - and boy, will it now! ;-) P.S. Thanks timsdd for spreading the word - forward any hilarious commentary.
you bet, np! that's nuts, still 6 days to go and now we are running: $53 @ 8721 views edit - more comments: "haha you are crazy!" (for posting it I guess?) "good luck i not bidding on that dumb sh**" (some things are just 'lost' on certain people I think - I'm not asking for bids!)
Yea, I'm not asking for bids - am actually ... uhhhh ... blown away by what has happened there so far. But I'm rolling as the hit counter approaches 10,000 ... and someone earlier mentioned eBay Pulse which appears to track most popular by number of people who put it on their watch list ... so it would rock to be that - so tell everyone you know to add it to their eBay Watch list - LOL! ;-)
Ask your brother to add an "add to favourites" link on the auction listing itself. This way a lot more viewers may push it into the pulse chart.
