Hello. I have an annoying problem on WordPress. I once created a post called "abc", and the permalink was "www.myblog.com/category/abc". I have deleted this post and opened again a post called "abc". This time the permalink automatically was "www.myblog.com/category/abc-2". And so on ... "abc-3" etc... I've tried to force edit the url but it doesn't let me, although the old url i.e. "www.myblog.com/category/abc" not exist. Is anyone knows how to fix this bug ? Thanks in advanced for the help, Tom
You should be able to edit it out of the file where wordpress saves the permalinks to. It saves it in the mysql files from what I can see.
If you removed the trash post, then surely you have no other option than editing mysql through phpmyadmin (boring). If you just removed, post would be in thrash, edit the post add the necessary content, and publish it.
