Here's the second installment in my "Stupid Trick of the Day" series. Todays topic: Using ClipMarks to Get Your Pages Ranked Faster! Clipmarks is a small browser toolbar widget that you can download at http://www.clipmarks.com/ which allows you to highlight up to 1000 characters of text on a web page and save it as a "clipmark", similar to social bookmarking. Since you are limited to the amount of content you can "clipmark", make sure you select the best text & links on your site because that's what will show up in the SERP's. So how does it work? After you download and install the widget, go to the page you want to clipmark, click on the big Paperclip icon on your browser toolbar to activate "highlight" mode. You can now click on the text, links & images you want to clipmark. The areas you clip will be highlighted green on your screen, and it shows you how many characters you have clipmarked. Once you have selected your 1000 or less characters, click on the "Save" button on your ClipMark toolbar. You can then add tags and a description to your clipmark and be sure to select "public" if you want the world to see your clipmark. What's the benefit? It's been my experience that Clipmarks get indexed extremely quickly, which means you can get backlinks in the search engines fast. I created a page yesterday, did a Clipmark on some of the text from that page, and the Clipmark comes up #1 today in Google for the keywords I was targeting. Obviously, it's not as good as having your actual page appear, but if you make sure you have a link in the Clipmark, it can be equally beneficial. If you want to get links to your site on Google fast, try out clipmarks. www.ClipMarks.com Previous "Stupid Trick of the Day" http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=567914
