Stupid questions about PR

I've been wondering :

1-) Does google really have a PR of 10 ? and does yahoo really have a PR of 9 ? or for such companies, it is manipulated ? i mean in order to have a PR system, there has to be a reference value

if there was no reference, so what does it mean that google has PR=10 then with no reference ? 10 what ?

i assume that google's PR is manually manipulated to the value of 10 then ?

Also is PR related to traffic ? i see sometimes high pr sites with no traffic whatsoever.

Last but not least, can any other site get a PR 10 or only www.google.com ?

Google can name itself whatever it wants.Let's pagerank 100.Yes,there are many sites which also owns a pagerank 10.For example www.whitehouse.gov.Check the pagerank yourself.

PR is not directly related to traffic. I see a lot of PR1-2s which gets a lot of traffic. PR is more like trust of google to your domain.

 

PR is not related to traffic as there are many sites on the net with low page rank
that gets more traffic than other sites with a higher page rank.

 

Google uses their own site as reference, google will always be PR10, because the algorythim starts tracing backlinks from google outwards.

Does anyone actually link to google? I mean, come on, most people probably just type the first g in the address bar and the auto complete finishes the rest. That is they don't have google search added on to their browser.

If PR is all based on links who's actually linking to google?


Edit: Ok, I just did a check and apparently a lot of pages link to google, but I still think it's weird.

 

pagerank means nothing at all. unless you want to sell links.

Yes, for me i dont care much about PR as much for good traffic, but if your pr is high, it means google will rank u higher in search results for keywords or not ???

Also when u link to other sites from your high pr site, do you loose some of your PR to them or not ? Please let me know if u do

I think google deserve PR 10, to best of my knowledge google is the most famous website in the world.
Can u just assume, howmany backlinks google might have ?
What else you need more than that to get PR10 ?

 

i am not talking if it deserves or not, i am talking if it applies the same logic of PR and same Algorythm to calculate its own PR like it does for other sites, i doubt that many sites link back to google.
