    I have been mucking around with Adwords for about 2 weeks now.

    What is the Adgroup?? Is it just your keywords? Or something else?

    Please explain what the function of the adgroup is?

    Thanks!

    I believe adgroup allows you to create multiple versions of the same ad. It will use the same keywords just display a different ad copy. This is a good way to increase CTR due to the fact you can show the one with the highest CTR more.

    Thanks! So am I selling my self short by just having one Adgroup? I have started out pretty broad, a whole lot of wasted clicks. Now that I know a little bit more, I am focusing my ad and keywords right in .... is it ok just to have one add group?

    Adgroups should be used to group similar keywords together and to fashion an ad that contains most of those keywords in it. So, really you should'nt have more than a couple of keywords per Adgroup and you should use exact matching with your keywords. This is alot of work but you will save yourself alot of wasted clicks by doing this.

    Account Structures are as follows:

    Account -> Campaign -> AdGroup -> Keywords/Ads

    Keywords should be tightly grouped together in the same 'theme' the tighter the better. Don't be afraid to only have 4-5 keywords in a single adgroup. Ads then display depending on the keywords that you listed in your Adgroup.

    Make sense?

    You create a campaign then within the campaign you can have various ad groups. Your keywords and ads are all contained within this ad group.

    I think ive got it figured now.

    Ive got one adgroup all around the phrases of 'resume writing service' and then another for 'professional resume services.

    Thanks for the help!
