Easier to just like your Google Webmaster account to verify domains... Then there is nothing you need to do if you have it on your Webmaster Tools account.

They might have asked you to upload a text file in the root directory of your domain to verify.

I just came from my Google Webmaster account to verify domains...I was given a verification code to add to my DNS (txt) ..almost same kinda looking code as given by Digitalpoint...still had problems..so called Godaddy support and they did it for me...thing is I don't want to call them, every time I want to sell a domain here (I have 10 + that I would like to sell)

You will receive an email from us with a TXT value you need to create in your domain name's DNS zone file. Adding this TXT record won't impact your website at all; it's something you can only view through a special tool which performs DNS lookups.

You can only create the TXT record through the company whose nameservers your domain name uses. If your domain name uses our nameservers, see Managing DNS For Your Domain Names article on our support site.

Use the following information to create your TXT record:

    Field What to enter...
    Name (Host) Type DZC.
Value Enter the entire TXT value we sent you.

This is a screen shot of how I finally figured how to add my verification code to my Godaddy account (txt record)
    (1) Put "@" in "Host" (just the @ nothing else)
    (2) pasted verification code in "TXTvalue"
    (3) clicked "Finish"
    (4) Waited a few minutes then domain verified here
(note I also had to use Godaddy nameservers)
    Hopefully this helps @AndyBowles
