    [bad day warning!]

In the UK we have villages, which are smaller than towns.

what is the equivalent in the US?

    Hmmmmmmmmm,

    good question,

but we have alot of these so called very small cities which are parts of big big counties.

for example, I used to live in Adelphi, MD when I was in the U.S. and my brother lives in Damascus MD and my father in Gaithersburg, MD.

Adelphi & Damascus are very small cities, maybe like 4 - 10 sq miles.

Now the counties, PG County or Montgomery County, they are huge especially PG, like 75 x 75 miles something like that.

We have villages in America..I live in one as a matter of fact, we have about 4000 people and 8 square blocks of "downtown". People from bigger cities usually refer to us as the suburbs because our "villages" are surrounding major cities -well really they just stretch from one city to the next now...

    :eek:Urban Sprawl:eek:
