Stupid people = headaches?

    I'll keep it short.

I have a small blog on blogspot.com where I make occational posts, nothing too serious.

I just checked my comments and there seems to be an idiot who left me about 4 comments complaining about various themes and threatening legal action. I'm not taking it too seriously though, here are some of his issues:

    - Me using another "company name" for my "product". My blog is called XXXXX-info and I have no products, just a blog that discusses a specific product and it's on blogspot.com, not even on it's own domain.

    - Apparently using HIS domain name for "unauthorized advertising" of my website/product/spam... I don't advertise and the domain he mentions has nothing to do with my blog.

    - Something about spam... again, I don't advertise or email.

My guess is that he's just having fun spamming my comments but I wanted to check here first. Anyone else have problems with these kinds of people?

Should I ignore it or contact blogspot?

I would ignore him or if you get bored have a little fun and start posting things to really piss him off.

he's just picking on your site - if you reply/retaliate, it'll only add to his fun... just ignore him for a while and he'll lose interest...

His/her comments were posted on the 19th... today is the first time I checked my comments... 5 days later.

Maybe he moved on to another blog. I seriously doubt he'd waste his time/money on a lawyer... especially considering that I haven't received any new comments for 5 days.

...probably just wanted to cause problems for the owner of the domain name he mentioned.

I personally wouldn't be absolutely indifferent to that. Whether it is a full-scale website or just a webblog, it's still a web presence and ability to spread some information.
Also, it can be even more serious if you derive any profits from that blog.
So, if I were you I would try to research the nature of his or her claims and estimate their validity to protect yourself from some possible abuse reports.

If his claims were serious and he wanted to take action further, he wouldnt post comments in your blog. He would contact you by post or email and send out a cease and desist. Sounds like some kid who will be going back to school soon :) Dont worry about it.

That's pretty much my take on it also. If they were serious they would at the very least leave their contact information and request a phone call or email address.

Besides, like I said... I don't spam, advertise or promote/trash any products directly.
