So I want to buy a car. The car I am talking about is the Ford Gran Torino `72 model. I found the car at a price from 4000 - 5000$. Everything is ok for now, but the laws in my country are really stupid. I have to buy the car from America and I live in Romania, Europe. In my country there is a tax called the polution tax. Since that car is a non euro car, the polution tax costs about 70.000$ That is insane, i wanted this car since ever and now I realise that I do not have the money to pay for that stupid tax. This is just stupid ... stupid country with stupid laws. And this is how someone's dream goes to hell
I know!! Your preaching to the choir, it's the same over here in the UK! Although I can see the point of it all, I mean, our grand kids will be walking around in toxic suits the way things are going!! lol We pay it differently though. We pay tax every year, the cost of which depends on the size of the engine. Then we pay enormous tax on fuel, as well as toll and congestion charges. The purpose of it over here is to get more people to commute. Not really an option for me.
anyone you know that knows someone working in the import area of your country?....pay them, I bet they could "pull some strings"
I remember those things, great looking car. Had a buddy that drove one years ago with a 429. Couldn't beat the power but the gas mileage was terrible.
Yes they are everywhere in UE .. but not everywhere in UE it costs that much. For example where I live in Romania it costs 70.000$, if I go and register it in Bulgaria it costs me somewhere around 1500$... and they both are members of the UE
I'm confused. How much is the car? I believe you said 4000 and the tax was 70, correct me if I am wrong. I'm kinda stupid when it comes to exchange rates and all.
That's a beautiful ride there, mate. But why dont you, like you said, just register it in Bulgaria and this way pay less taxes. Good luck
