    It is a website were users can surf the internet with out the sites being blocked.

    Like a student may want to goto a aracde site which is banned at the college, so they would goto the proxy to gain acces to the site ;)

    So they can do this on the college computer I assume. Curious...because I see so much mention of people putting AdSense on proxy sites....or people selling proxy sites.....which is why I wondered about their use and are they valued more than a traditional URL? I mean, in the sense they can allow access to blocked sites?

    any URL can contain a proxy...it's just a script..so their only value is the income they generate..

    Common sense, engage brain - people are blocked at school so they want to access sites. Proxies allow them to do this. However proxies are blocked too ... and so people always need new ones. And by the way, ever seen the search bar?
