I have had great success with stumble - I stumbled the home page of my own site a bit over a year ago, there has been another 20 people who have given it the tick.

I average over 500 visits/mth from stumble to my site.

All traffic is good as if it does nothing more than promote "brand awareness" then that is also a good thing.

Maybe someone can give me some good advice here. I have a tutoring site that I answers questions on. If I want to get it stumbled what steps should I take?

    1. Install the toolbar.

    2. Visit your site.

    3. Give your site a "thumbs up".

    4. Hope for the best.

I have not seen much traffic from stumble but my site is still less than a month old so hoping for the best.

I am just curious does traffic from stumble have any negative affect on Adsense. I heard recently that if you get an increase in clicks from stumble that Adsense may ban you for illegal traffic...anybody know of this is true?

stubmleupon traffic is very untargeted so you need a good landing page to convert it

Actually, I forgot to mention a very important step!

Friends. Make lots of mutual friends who share the same interests as your site's topic(s).

For example, if your site is about "programming", don't choose friends who are interested in "poetry". Target your audience carefully. ;)

If your site has interesting content, StumbleUpon will help you build links and drive future traffic. A few posts on the site in my sig were Dugg (and received 10,000-100,000 hits) simply because they were listed on StumbleUpon. However, if you have a MFA site, or a storefront, or anything like that, SU won't help much at all.

    Yes, it's quite common.

Do a forum search for "stumbleupon" and you'll see a variety of threads dedicated to exchanges.

I have been able to get pretty decent traffic from StumbleUpon, but they don't seem to click on Adsense ads much. The CTR is much lower on my niche sites when compared to traffic from other sources.

that's usually the problem with those sites - the conversion is non-existent. It's only good if you want to spread the word to a very minor extent.

Agreed. I got stumbled today for a video I posted on a blog of mine, and out of about 400 impressions...... ZERO clicks.

Scratch that. So far it's 1:786... ugh. Got a good amount from the click though.

I had some rough patches with Stumble Upon, but over the past week traffic has been steady and strong. I just rechecked my sites to find out who gave me a thumbs up and added them as friends. Over the past three months I have been stumbling fairly steadily and have more than 2000 thumbs up. So, if I am benefiting then I know my friends are as well.

If anyone chooses to add me, then please let me know and I'll do likewise:
    http://mattkeegan.stumbleupon.com/

Please contact me through Stumble Upon and not this thread -- I won't be checking it at all.
