What have you gotten out of stumbleupon? Say if your site is stumbled 200 times how many uniques will you actually get? Is it worth it? Thanks!
I've gotten good results from stumbleupon traffic wise. Conversion wise, not so much, which is typical. I stumbled one page on my blog and got over 11,000 hits off of that (about 3500 uniques). So it can really pull in traffic, but most users just stumble on to the next page. I would suggest using teaser techniques to draw people in...away from the stumble button. If you are doing a blog, separate posts into pages so they have to click your site to read more. Use images and videos that will catch their eye. Pretty basic stuff.
I've got to admit, I haven't done much tracking to see where my traffic is coming from. What I have done, though, is searched my keywords on Google. I found my StumbleUpon pages in the search results. That's gotta be worth something, right?
My Google Analytics says that I stumbled my page (and did stumble exchanges) and got around 500 hits. The bounce rate (percent of visitors that visited one page and left) was surprisingly lower than what I normally get. 34% from stumbleupon with 51% being my site average.
I am getting close to a 1000 hits a day through stumble and about half of them are unique. Not bad for a free program. I highly recommend it.
although the downside is that when you use stumbleupon you generally end up killing your pages/visit category. Simply put, most people will visit a page and if you are lucky they will see a second page. Then they generally move onto the next stumble.
yes stumble is good for traffic but not so good for conversions unless you have something on your page that draws attention or is an impulse buy type of thing
As per traffic quality its horrible. I tried once buying $25 worth of 250 stumbles. It was a total waste. However I get on and off several hundred from them every month.
loads of traffic, poor quality though. If you just want to get traffic flowing and indexing for a new site its a good choice.
I got a huge spike one day, but it wound up being worthless. It was basically a dagger in my analytics results, with the "back to usual" results afterwards.
1800 uniques first 2 days, 800 for about 7 after that and then a good 300 for another 20 or so days. Droping right down now. Doesn't convert though.
I paid a few bucks for a bunch of stumbles. It did bupkes for my traffic. It was an experiment, so I guess it was a success, even if SU wasn't (for me).
StumbleUpon can do some good for your website if you use it correctly. I've recieved over 2,000 within a week from submitting to StumbleUpon. Just dont go overboard, then you'll be spamming.
Hmm, jury is still out for me with Stumbleupon - haven't done enough testing, but I'd say it depends on the niche you're in and with anything to do with money making etc a think the traffic that come aren't that interested.
Stumble Upon has really got my blog some great traffic and I will surely try to make my readers Stumble my contents. One good thing about StumbleUpon is that it will send targeted traffic to your site.
