Stumbleupon Promotion

Is anyone using StumbleUpon successfully for promoting their site? I'm asking because it seems like a lot of work to use it legitimately, i.e. stumbling, making friends, adding comments, etc., etc., and I'm not sure the benefit is really there. Plus, I have read that SU users tend to not click on ads and have low page views/visit. Was this your experience?

Any and all advice is much appreciated...

I think all you have said is true, it is a lot of hard work trying to befriend people and not really getting much response. Maybe i am not giving it enough time as i only joined two weeks ago !

Since they only have a handful of categories I can't imagine anything you get stumbled to be niche specific enough to generate targeted clicks. I'd move on to something else and just get excited when your quality content is stumbled, or whatever they call it.

Thx guys. You just saved me hours and hours of wasted time. I'm so busy with content and other more important things that I couldn't imagine how to squeeze that in anyway.
