Look at that! Just look! It is giving me traffic when I don't want it!

Why couldn't this happen when I needed the traffic a few months ago

eek. I just wish I had the time to update the site so the traffic would be recurrent. I halted production after I realized my template was horrible, so I'm taking a month or two to redo it. And now I get traffic. great.

Surely traffic is always a good thing anyway?

It isn't good for one main reason.

If my site isn't developed to the point I want it to be, then having traffic to it prematurely could ruin it in the long run. If people initially stumbled it positively, gave it popularity, and more people saw it- then others would give it a negative stumble as it is not all the way developed.

It would be better to have the stumbles later on in the development stage. Traffic isn't always good.

are you complaining that you don't want to get a traffic from Stumble anymore?.. well, that's very simple, just remove your link on your Stumble account and that's it... gone.

I wouldn't say that entirely. Lots of people use StumbleUpon to find content for posting on their sites, similar to digg or reddit. Popular SU posts of mine have resulted in quite a few extra links.
