hi i heard that stumbleupon gives u a good traffic .. maybe better than google !! plz help !! i dont understand what that means .. and if u can give me an example or a site that stumble !! or how to do that !! thanx
Just go to www.stumbleupon.com and read or search for it on Google. Or better yet just scroll down to the bottom of the page and read similar threads.
This is a good method because some high-profile SU users have many others who look at their profiles - and visit links they recommend! My free hosting service really got a boost in traffic from a few StumbleUpon users - who I am indebted to.
I've seen 10,000+ visitors to a single blog post of mine, though that's pretty rare. However, stumblers move along in a hurry and they almost never: - Subscribe your feed - Click your ads - Leave a comment Still, any of the above items help. Even if it happens much less often with stumble traffic, it beats nothing. I'd take 1,000 from the Google SERPS over 10,000 from SU, but I'll take either of them on most days.
Stumbleupon traffic = useless for adsense....you can't expect money from adsense if you depend upon stumbleupon traffic..
For me SU is great source of targeted visitors. As a result you can get a lot of backlinks from their blogs, etc.
StumbleUpon is a social bookmarking service. People bookmark your website and it creates an inbound link to your site. In addition, StumbleUpon has a downloadable browser toolbar that will randomly pull up websites in a specific category. But as you can imagine, the traffic is not often very effective. Think of it like sitting on your sofa with the remote control clicking through channels on TV. You only stop and look if you see something that looks interesting, which might only be on every 30 channels or so. The same applies here - you will get a lot of passers by, but few people will click beyond the first page.
I agree. CTR from stumbleupon traffic is very low in my experience, something like 0.5%. It drives down the eCPM. Search engine traffic is much better for Adsense CTR.
It's worthless of the traffic coming from Stumbleupon in terms of CTR. They rarely convert. But if your site's really good, it should be enjoying quite some backlinks after the flood. =)
In my experience stumbleupon visitors do return to quality websites. Many will also bookmark your site, and even stumble other pages on it. I don't think I got many links from it though. Stumbleupon isn't so good for self-promotion though. In that case it's better to just pay stumble.
SU is great, but nothing compare to google, i also think there is a rumor lucking around that google lowers the $$ from stumble traffic, yet i dont believe thats possible, unless you are using google ant. (cuz there is no other way for them to figure it out, yet they do use ad trackers thus making the rumor sound more real)
I recently had a hugely stumbled image on my blog...lots of links, and nice alexa boost, but only a few signups. Basically, direct monetization is out, but in the long run having a heavily stumbled blog will help with search engine traffic.
