Looks like the free backlinks from top social bookmark sites are comming to a rapid end. Stumbleupon is the latest to add nofollow to its links
As far as i know stumble has been no follow the day it came out. I was there trying all sorts of things. I was then banned after a little chat with the admin himself.
The first result on Google for nofollow http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2005/01/preventing-comment-spam.html
AFAIK, StumbleUpon was always better for getting traffic than optimizing the search engines, so this doesn't really affect me all that much. I don't think many people, if not anyone, will stop using SU because of this.
I hadn't thought of using Stumble for link development - did the pages even have decent PR or anything? As others have said, Stumble is still a great way of getting traffic, so I don't think I'll be stopping using it.
* do you know how to use google? there is a search box there. use it pls * i think social bookmark sites are good traffic i never made seo profit from social bookmark sites
You can still get lots of links from people linking to your story or images in their blog posts, so it's still a good source of traffic and links.
oh NO! I can't believe it.I was using stumble for getting more backlinks. So its an end. I think we should start some Social Bookmarking sites without nofollow and move fast ?
this is the result of people abusing an spamming the service, only a matter of time before it happened.
i just really really hope that digg wont be the next to add no follow. based on my experience, digg really helps in my ranking especially for my targeted keywords.
This is great. Personally, I banned all traffic from this site as I did not want worthless impressions that could lead to a ban. Now stumbleupon is even more worthless.
?????????? lead to what ban? since when are unique visitors worthless... stumbleupon has been nofollow for quite a while now
