Hmmm... personally, I'm not sure. Good observation though.

I knew stumbleupon would do that, you may just use stumbleupon for more traffic. :D

I don't know but I can see a time when just about any link on every site will be nofollow. This means back to square one for the ranking algos (or give nofollow some weight anyways).

Yep, it looks as if this nofollow tag is starting to get used alot more. I didn't notice it on stumble, so if it's new or not, I'm not sure.

Yeah, it might not be, but I just noticed because I had my search status toolbar set to show nofollow, and a giant portion of the page lit up in color.

It may have been like that from the start.. but I don't think so.

This becomes more and more difficult to find ways to obtain a good quality inbound link. On the other hand I wouldn't mind if I still get free traffic from StumbleUpon.

now it is useless, just keep stumbling and get traffic. a waste of backlinks.

I think even if the site can get a good amount of traffic from stumbleupon then its fine. i guess they just dont want the bots to go out their site from the live links.

I am getting a very good traffic from Stumbleupon. I started doing this 3 days back and for my spicyimage site, I already got more than 100 links from it.

Unless you have CPM programs on your website, Stumbleupon traffic is useless....

As I remember stumble upon always had nofollow ! It is good for traffic .... Wikipedia also has nofollow yes ? ... but it is good for traffic :D

Remember it is traffic you are after .... people bother too much with all kind of non-important stuff .... if you don't see any benefit in traffic from stumbleupon ...well there is no help for you then hehe :D

I have had days where I get a few extra thousand uniques from SU, but I have never really seen a jump in my revenue from those days. The benefits I have seen from SU are links from other sites. When more people see my pages the chances of natural (non-reciprocal) links increases. I have a lot of new inbound links from message boards, blogs, etc. from people that found me on SU.
It's also a good place to get an idea of how well visitors will enjoy a new page or site.

    I've only been getting 1 unique/day from it. I guess that's ok.
