Wow, I asked for a few stumbles here and there and exchanged a few, and have been averaging 25-50 hits a day from them... THEN... All of a sudden today I get almost 500 hits in a few hours... They stayed an average of like 2 seconds, but still, that's a lot of traffic...
It can get you a lot of traffic. The big complaint is that it is temporary traffic and very few click on your ads. I see it as a free opportunity to get free traffic. I for one love Stumble Upon.
How would it be against the TOS of adsense? Marketing your website is the only way adsense can make money. If you couldn't get traffic, they wouldn't be in business. I'll attest that StumbleUpon works too. They don't stay long, but I find if it's media, they love it and will check out the rest of your site too. I haven't had a lot of luck with articles, videos however, damn nice.
stumbleupon is really a traffic generator, I have site who's averging 800-2k + for almost 5 days. And I got a returning visitor for my arcade site.
Nope Stumble Upon is not against Google's TOS. I asked to be sure. I even created a blog all about Stumble Upon Exchanges and asked Google if this was ok and got a email back saying it was fine because it was not automatic or bought traffic. In fact I made it to the top of the search results with the blog listed in my location spot.
It's great I"ve never even signed up but someone submitted something on my site I get about 200 uniques a month
I don't see why stumbleupon wouldn't be allowed because if someone happens to put your site in the stumble upon database, it's not your fault. I got huge surges in traffic from stumbleupon once, and it wasn't me that cause it...i didn't even know what stumbleupon was at the time.
I have registered close to 100K over a period of few months and well i think they like funny pictures the most
Ha stumble upon sure does bring in a lot of traffic! If anyone is looking to join a stumble group (where we all stumble each others sites) please check out http://www.seo-bb.com/stumbleupon
Whoa! Are you serious? How do you promote it? Do you do a ton of the stumble exchanges, or install some kind of "stumble me" button on your site?
Once I got around a thousand uv's in a span of 24 hours and then pfft its gone. Its been around 5 or since then per day.
That's been my experience, too. Big spurt, dribble out-then nothing! I'm starting to wonder if my page has a penalty, but it's still there and I can't see much out of it. They may be monitoring DP exchanges, because my "stumbles" haven't resulted in any further refers.
That's probably what will happen to my current burst, but for the time being, it feels good getting 200 unique's per hour... Ah crap, so everyone's stumble visitors go away?
Nope i write content specifically for such networks The biggest hits i have had is picture posts and funny videos for my blog Its just simple, i make a nice picture post and then stumble it And once people notice your site and like the content, you get a lot of returning traffic
Yea, people visit and join my forum I am starting a new forum just for stumbles http://www.seo-bb.com
I am an avid stumble user so I can relate to the other users. If a website does not catch the eye within about 5 seconds, they will stumble to another site. You need something eye catching, a big heavy title that grabs attention, or a funny graphic, or boobs. Those are good to get attention But most people can't do the latter, so stick with the first two. SU users don't convert very well because they are simply people sitting at work or something bored. It's good for brand recognition though. If you can get a site where people want to stay once they Stumble to it, then more people will start to share it, and the more people that share it, the more people that know it. Which is why I stated earlier that media does the best with SU users in my opinion. They are bored and in need of entertainment, give it to them.
SU can bring really good (BIG) traffic for a few days.. But, make sure your page is something like funny vids, funny pics, etc. B/c as poster above said, it might be really bored people (think TV watchers).... Does anyone have any experience advertising on SU? Was thinking of it myself but not sure....
yes I have an advertiser account. It costs 5 cents a visit but the traffic is the same kind and they dont stay any longer than a regular stumble. I do have a shopping site though so maybe a content site would do better. You dont have to spend much to try it out.
I was thinking about that too.... But $0.05 a person? that's 20 for a dollar... For $10 you only get 200 visitors??? eh, i'll stick to poor-man's stumbling...
