I did this to one of my sites about 4 months ago, and since then, I have had consistently around 200-300 stumbled visitors/mth.

If you have something to offer, it is worth a try....

EDIT - just looked at this months stats - 700 visits for the month...

If you go out and let others know that you're around instead of sitting back and waiting for them to come to then you'll have a better chance of getting more clicks. Add as much friends as you can and the pyramid effect will take place. Get yourself noticed by others first. Yell, shout, scream but do what you got to do to say, "Hey, I'm here!" without of course spamming.

It works great with FF and I believe this week they should be applying an IE version which will bring in more members.

Don't think about sales. Think about building a bond with others first. Trust is what starts the train moving.

whose website? stumbleupon.com? Its in the title of the thread.

Anyway, I also experienced sudden traffic coming from stumbledupon from my site that was submitted by somebody else. Low conversion rate but good enough than non at all.

You do need to add friends to your account for this to work right?

I have seen a lot of traffic come my way from StumbleUpon. Most of it comes rapidly in a day or two when your site is added... then it dies down and you won't get any more.

What are some pages you guys have voted for? I'm not sure how well the free/voting for your own sites works as I haven't used it.

However, I've gotten good results from advertising (paid) via their system. I posted a long time back about this over here http://www.fadinsite.com/showthread.php?t=90

    What about impression ads?

I get mainly Stumble Upon traffic for one of my sites -- its a single page site with just one flash item, and it makes a bit of cash.

    Every little helps matey ;)

I got great conversion yesterday through my sites when I listed them there.

Someone else had mentioned continually adding deeper links to good articles, tools, etc. in your site, and that would keep the traffic coming for a while. I'm going to give it a shot. :)

yeah if you get new content from time to time, just submit the stuff you think stumblers will like (general interest stuff mostly, they love flash games movies that kinda stuff). Ill let you guys know if the traffic dies off after a couple days., but so far the 2nd day was better than the 1st. I think you have to have people continually clicking the I Like It button to keep up the traffic. If nobody clicks it after a few days it will start to die down.

I use StumbleUpon instead of my browser's Bookmarks. Once you get into the habit, it is hard to break - I have been using them for years. Mix in your sites and you can get some good additional traffic.

I had never heard of Stumble Upon until I found it my log for APC, and I got a bunch of hits. With nearly 1,000 visitors from it in just two days I didn't get one new member from them. My site is new, but I have been averaging 1 new member for every 275 uniques. I guess my ratio would be better if I didn't get stumbled upon, but who knows maybe it was the stumbler that has been telling their friends about my site. Get what you can take!

Are there any similair sites like stumbleupon that anyone has found?? Not digg types or plain old boring social bookmarks. I'm talking just like SU. I like SU and find it entertaining when I'm totally bored....which is often.

I use SU to find people that are interested in my site as well and hope they will revisit on their own. It sure helps with banner exchanges, too. I get hits from SU which causes the banner exchanges to send more hits to my site.

No clicks on ads really, but for those that use CPM programs, could help you out a bit.

Usually, you get 100 the first day, 80 the second day, a few weeks later you get 12 a day in my experience.
