Stumble upon sent me 500 hits in one day then stoped?

    So a few days ago stumble upon sent me just over 500 unique hits, this is strange as stumble upon never sent me more then 3 or 4 hits a day. The next day the traffic from stumble was back to normal. What could cause this? Anyone have any idea?

    To tell you the truth things like this happen to my website quite often, just not with referring traffic usually with direct traffic. The site will get 20-40 people a day by direct traffic then it will jump to 500 for 2 days then back to normal. Any ideas?

    probably someone submitted a page of your website and got voted and then the voting stopped.

    It sent me 1000 one day, then stopped, get maybe one if i'm lucky now.

    That happens not a big deal.You can have constant hits if those 500 would have loved your site..
