I have done a number of stumble exchange with some people but now I am wondering whether stumble exchange could affect the google ranking negatively.

Any one, any thought about that?

    thanks

The thing about this type of traffic is that it converts very very low

Stumpleupon uses nofollow so their links are useless for ranking.

No, it can't affect your Google ranking. Quit worrying so much - instead, focus on having a good site. There are far more benefits to that, anyway. ;)

Agree, better to make the site and content worth bookmarking or linking to. You do that and everything else will fall in place.

No but digging will if your a new site.... Um people here might dislike the fact but I have noticed that digg is actually hurting websites ranking in google if their under a certain age. Unsure what you might consider new and I might consider new but I think digg is being very devalued right now.

I have found stumbleupon never seems to provide this effect to a new site , strange eh? Its always helped me anyway when the site was really new, and it is considered very well in Yahoo search. Even more liked by Yahoo in my opinion.

Is anything about Digg proven?, I have a few new sites to SEO for and I usually Digg them and press releases but I will steer clear if it's going to harm them.

I was really not aware of the fact that stumpleupon is using nofollow on their links. Is it same with all the other social networking sites?

People are nuts on here sometimes. There's no such thing as a negative incoming link for google rankings. Some don't have a positive effect either, but none have a negative effect. That's done so we can't harm 3rd party sites.

But if the links are from bad sites (illegal sites), it might effect the ranking, I think.

No its only if you link to the bad site that your rankings could be effected.
