What country has a law that makes finding something illegal?

Most of the time, for a person to be guilty there has to be some kind of intent. This protects people from being charged with crimes like this guy was. Its not the cops who are in the wrong, its the law makers. The cops do not make the laws, they just enforce them.

Ridiculous, simply ludicrous. I can't believe these cops actually took this kid in. Cops may not make the laws, but they sure have the ability to use their common sense. Just the other day a cop kept a guy from going into the hospital to be by his dying mother's side. The reason? The guy ran a red light trying to get to the hospital in time. Do you know what happened to the cop? He was suspended, and given a reprimand by the Chief of Police. That is what should happen to these cops as well.

This is what makes me sad living in the UK these days. It seems that common sense has left the people in priveleged positions.

It is really too bad that an honest student gets punished...Hope it did not leave a long-lasting impression on that young mind...

More appropriate statement should have been..... No bad deed goes unpunished!

Perhaps, the world has changed and so has the ideology.... :(

    Regards,

People always get punished for being honest!
People who makes mistakes every time don't be punished!
That's how the world is now!

Unfortunate and feels bad for Paul who was arrested for being a good samaritan! But two thumbs up to Paul and his upbringing!

As Paul's father says the cops should apologize!

Anyone arrested in Britain - whether or not they're charged/convicted of an offence - has their DNA taken and stored indefinitely on a central database.
Apologies to anyone who thought they were living in a fair and just democracy.

The UK started to take DNA to find solve and find alot of criminals.

If your house have been robbed the first thing the police do is finger prints of your self.

If I found it I wouldn't of gave it to the police. I'd just give it back to the owner.

    Nice find.
