I am creating a website to be a so called sister site to my facebook fan page. Not sure how to lay it out though. So I am asking you all for advice. What would you do? Here is what I need the site to do. I need to be able to post pictures and occasional video. Pictures would be in 2 categories. Videos would be something seperate. I want people to be able to log in/ create an account. Facebook integration would be nice. Rate, comment, and sharing options allowed. Adsense or other ad network integration. The site will basically mirror images that I post on my fan page plus pictures that I can't post on facebook because it would violate facebook's TOS. I thought about using a wallpaper script do make this happen but they just seem too bloated for something this simple. Someone told my to use wordpress but I'm not that familiar with it to feel comfortable using it. So I am open for suggestions. Maybe you know of a script that would fit this perfect? I'd love to know about it. Thanks in advance.
I think you should make a wordpress site.. It's easy to use.. There are a lot of good & free templates around the web if you search for them. You can get one of them and if you know CSS, edit as you wish.. Since a lot of people use wordpress there are lots of plugins which you can use for either sharing the stuff or member registration or anything.. Just dig around about wordpress and you'll understand what I'm sayying..
I decided to check out wordpress. Looked into a few videos on youtube about turning wordpress into a photography portfolio. Looks promising. I got to thinking though. Something like pinterest would work great. Is it possible to use wordpress in that way?
Okay.. I found some themes for free to download.. I'm listing them here; 1- http://shakenandstirredweb.com/theme/shaken-grid-free 2- http://wpshower.com/demo/?theme=imbalance2 3- http://photographicblog.com/themes/photum/ < This one is a little different though. 4- http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/sampression-lite 5- http://bragthemes.com/theme/pinstrap-pinterest-meets-bootstrap/ These are good ones.. I'm sure there are alot more out there.. But these seemed good to me.. I hope that helps..
I recommend to use CMS and the wrodpress CMS interface is easy for non technical customers. So, May help you to create new pages, edit the content and the Wordpress coding style is SEO friendly to get good ranks as well.
Thanks everyone for the advice. I have decided on going with a pinterest theme for wordpress. Seems to be coming together nicely although a few things i'm not sure how to edit but i'll figure it out. Thanks again.
