    hi everybody ,

what would you do if you were stuck in a job that you hate and you have no choices or no other opportunities .. would you give up and say hello for the bad luck or what ?
as all of you know it's really hard when you like to do something but in fact you are doing something else ,just like a person who wants to be a pilot but he works as a police officer.. anyway waiting your posts

    ^__^ thx ..

if there is no other option, you should change your attitude and try to lke it. life's like that - as forest gump said... "life's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get..." ;)

I had that happen a few years ago. I joined a company that I thought was an excellent match (I build Web sites, and they needed an intranet from the ground up -- I could buy servers, dictate the software used, design it myself... lots of control & potential). It was great for a year. But the intranet was launched, and became very important... too important. It had discussion modules, file sharing, job review systems, budgeting tools -- I built them a monster intranet, and they loved it. But because they loved it, they wanted to get their hands in the pie. Soon every decision had to be reviewed by 20 VPs. Then eventually, only the CEO could make any decisions or drive development.

I ended up with employees sitting in their cubicles playing Polar Bowling because there was no work for them, because the CEO was too busy running the company to spend time on the feature set of the intranet. But he wouldn't let go of it. People were complaining that the intranet wasn't growing with them. And they were right -- demand had gone up, but development had gone down.

My last 2 years there were a nightmare. I searched endlessly for a better job. But the economy was still in a downturn. Like you, I desperately hated the job and wanted anything better. In the end, there was a layoff and I got 2 months salary to leave. I took it. I had no job prospects. I built some of my own Web sites for a few months, but they never brought in enough income. So in desperation, I emailed every single person in my address book, told them I was looking for work, and asked for any jobs in my area of interest.

I got a few freelance jobs for very low pay. I took them. I made contacts, and raised my rates. I got better work, and better contacts. But it wasn't enough, and by this point, I was in debt. So when I thought I could get away with it, I raised my rates again. My clients stuck with me. Now I'm trying to climb back into the black. I have a lot of work, and 2 subcontractors to help with overflow. It's not easy. Making a move out of a bad job and into the unknown is scary and dangerous. But sometimes you have to move anyway, and accept the good & bad that comes with it. Be prepared as much as you can.

Despite the bad stuff, I have to admit that I am more happy now than at any previous point in my career. Getting into freelancing is risky but has really suited me. Hopefully in two years you might be saying the same thing about whatever career you're pursuing.

if you really hate your job, strive to work in getting the job that you DO love... if not, then you'll just have to learn how to like your current job and live with it. :D
