Stubborn Seller

    So,

I own the domain, pwnography.net. Don't bother going to it, theres nothing there yet thats accessible by the public. Point being, is that the original name Pwnography.com was taken.

I kindly sent the domain holder a nice email, since the site is never updated, and its a self ran, non upholding community. The returned email was:

"Sure I would love to get it off my hands actually. If you give me 35,000$ I will transfer it to you for free. I am not joking, I will sell you it, since you own the secondary domain and well you probably would have more use than you. In face just to help you out to make sure no one get its, I will give you a discount of 34,999$ to buy. Deal?"

So obviously this guy is being stubborn... any suggestions?

If you don't want to pay the money or try to talk him or her down in price, move on and don't think about it again. You have no legal recourse to the name, especially considering he or she registered theirs first.

Reducing the price by one dollar is an arrogant move by the seller. The website doesn't even look like it's up and running. You need to pay him $10 dollars, not 35 thousand dollars.

What do you mean by "nice" email? Did you offer him any money for it? if so how much?

His reply sounds more like a sarcastic comeback to a low ball offer.
It is a good domain, but if you are not willing to negotiate with the owner, I would just move on and look for something similar that has the .com version available.
Come to think of it, I think I still own hcpwn .com, so there are probably still a few similar ones around.

    Cheers
    James

Exactly. The person is not serious about selling the name as you can tell from his email & the ridiculous price asked for it.
