Hello, I am struggling with a high bounce rate on my website Cellutips, a site about cell phone tips and information. The bounce rate was between 90% and 95% and has dropped to 80-85% after I added a Related Post box and a greeting for new visitors. This is however still much too high for my tastes. 99% of my traffic comes from Google and the visitors seem to land on pages explaining what they were looking for. So I have 4 theories on this: 1. People land exactly on what they are looking for, read the article, and leave, content, accounting for a 100% bounce. 2. The design of the website sucks. I agree it's pretty minimalist but I don't think people can be turned off too much by this? I don't see red and green flashing banners anywhere. 3. The content or writing sucks and drives people away. 4. The topic of the website is not interesting and visitors feel no need to research it further. What do you think? Care to review my site? Thanks!
I think you need a better design, the site looks very bland and makes people want to leave asap unless the article is REALLY good.
Well, based on the domain name alone I thought it was going to be about cellulitis The site seems to be very wide, I would also change the design & font. Also not sure if you could just merge the first and last column?
I agree with premiumscripts. Maybe try a 2 column design. Also, make a nice logo and make the categories list more prominent. I guess the best method is to try different things and see what works.
I believe part of the problems resides on a poorly worded page title: Why dont you chnage that to; These simple things will save you xxx dollars a month!!! The xx calculation should be made available to make your page credible. Good luck, Rob
I see you merged the column If I were you I'd move this one to the right, simply because that's how most websites do it.
